I am coming from a GS300. These cars are all go, no luxury at all. Reminds me of the days when I had my Trans Am, but life is a little more hectic and I want a little more peace and quiet with that go.

All the more reason to check out an RL. A reasonable-size family should fit with no problem; it has road-hugging AWD, and, while not having exotic styling, it is far from ugly.........except maybe for the new 2009 grille. The big V6, while not quite V8 power, is no slouch.
As far a room is concerned it could be a coupe as long as I have enough room for the car seat for my daughter. This is why the S5/A5 are high on my list. They are larger coupes than say a 335i.

Thanks for the recommendation. I check the RL out. This I didn't have on the radar but maybe Acura has stepped it up a bit lately. Would you take this over a GS450H or GS460?

Just curious but in your profile you say you have a 2006 GS300 and you say that it is not luxury enough for you and that you are looking for more peace and quiet. Why are the GS450h and 460 on your list?

The RL, brand-new, is also heavily discounted due to low demand and sales. But the new 2009 grille, like the one on the new TSX, is ridiculous....if it were my choice, I'd clearly get a 2008.

No, no. The GS is my standard...... at least in my price range, for luxury. My ideal car would be the luxury of the GS with better handling and more go. I was just responding to the go fast cars suislide mentioned.

Why not consider a base LS460? or a loaded GS450h or 460? Stick with Lexus. And why would you need more handling than a GS? For even a semi performance minded driver they handle well. Do you do the slalom on the way to work everyday?
It's like upgrading to a Corvette Z06 because you don't think a regular corvette handles well enough on city streets. Unless, of course, you are looking for better snow handling.

You can do a lot better than that............especially for 65K or less.

If you look for 2+2 or coupe my guess would be to either save bucks and go downmarket or save up more bucks and go upmarket. The same really applies to the sedan as well.

Ha! That is exactly what I was thinking, but I wanted to be more diplomatic in my disdain for Chryslers. I like the way you fielded that one !
Besides I would never trade my Lexus for a Chrysler even in hard times I would get an Accord Coupe first, or something used.

rx8 with leather for down market or GTR for upmarket. both are coupes that accomidate 6 footers in front and back with ease. now if u were to get a used car than u'd have more options
