my buddy owns a print shop in cerritos... its not cheap to do this. but most of the money goes to the install... the vinyl is fairly cheap. and it aint easy to do. i tried doing this to my roof and didn't turn out so nice. so i took it off. doesn't make much sense to do. practically ends up costing the same as paint. he did a hummer from white to pink (for "lipstick bail bonds" maybe socal peeps have seen it on billboards)..... and it cost something around 2 grand!

as far as the paint after removal....? nothing a good buff polish and wax job couldn't fix.

Yup the 3M painter's tape. It works for long road trips as a temporary rock chip protector.

the glue can harden up and it will look REALLY REALLY scary but it can be removed with 3m adhesive remover with no permanent issues to the paint.

If I were to do this to my car, there would be so many bubbles it would not even be funny. Hell, I can't even put a clear screen protector on a Blackberry Curve without getting a single bubble in the film.

I vinyled the roof of my friends C230 and it came out pretty dam good. It takes a little time but once you get the hang of it its much easier, oh and you need help on the large panels, single handedly it's a PITA.
