Hi guys,

I'm not sure where I read this but I remember seeing or hearing that when you upgrade your NAV DVD to a newer eddition (like going from 2002maps to 2007maps) you no longer can go back to the old DVD (if you want to sell the car but keep the newer DVD to sell).

Anyhow, I recently sold my 2003 LS430UL. I had updated the DVD to 2007 maps though. Upon selling the car, I removed the updated DVD, installed the 2002 DVD and everything worked fine. I had no issues at all. It simply went back to older maps.

I'm not sure if this is the case for all models, but it was for me.

I think the problem may be if you disconnect your battery - you'll get an error from the NAV when you reconnect it.

the problem you mentioned only occurs if you downgrade from certain update disc to another

ie, any upgrades after 2001 cannot go back to using 2001's disc

Ok, so its not all upgrade discs? I went back to a 2002 from 2007 maps.
