Are you talking about controlling the iPod via the stereo system? Otherwise all GS models have an iPod/MP3/Windows Media Audio (WMA) port.

I find it amusing that the PB edition LS is basically the "launch edition" with a different plaque cheaply glued to the center stack. At least on the SC the PB emblem is embedded into the wood trim as opposed to stuck on top.

The choice of special amenities is also disappointing. I agree with the guy who said that if I was luggage or golf ***** or knives, I'll buy them. This has been the one problem with Lexus special editions (be they Coach, or Platinum, or whatever)--the exclusivity is nice, but the gimmies are gimmicks.
Ive seen two in richmonf VA which is a lot since were mostly middle class. As for the PB 600hl being the same as the launch it has different wheels on the outside and the inside has different woodtrim and contrasting stitching.

Love the interior of both PB special editions, but silver is one of my least favorite paint for the SC, I would prefer a different paint for the exterior.

By contrast, that's 300 Lexus SC Pebble Beach editions for 2008; previously there were 400 units of the SC Pebble Beach edition.

In 1997, two years after the intro of the 2LS, a Coach edition of the LS was offered, in greater numbers...it was advertised on TV, had 5 color choices, etc. that likely was to prop up sales. But for the LSh, with the Launch Edition at the start and the Pebble Beach edition for the second year, sounds more like niche marketing to me. A similar comparison can be made to the 2005 S-Class Saks Edition which was limited to 20 units. And contrast with the 1,000 units of the 2009 Diamond White Special Edition S550 coming later this year.

The Pebble Beach special edition might have something to do for LSh sales, but this year Lexus is doing something different by offering ES, RX, LS, and SC Pebble Beach editions. It's not just the SC as in past years.

Incidentally, I've seen a handful of LS 600h Ls around the SoCal area, maybe it was a fluke but in the past two weeks I've seen three, and one S55.
didnt you hear? making 50 limited models and making customers pay extra for them is way to increase sales of failing models.

few people are just being funny.

Isn't that just an analog aux input?

Right, same as all Lexus models. An official Lexus iPod integration kit ($300) is on sale since 2008 and allows steering wheel controls, etc. of the iPod:

How come there's not Power/Snow button in the RX400h. Thought that was weird.

it does not have AT, "CVT" is smoother, you can control speed with gas pedal alone...

1. LS 600hl IS NOT a failure. We have seen the reports of it selling 300% past expectations. Many forget that it was a special order car only and only 5% of LS allocation was for the hybrid model.
2. Lexus HAS TO PRODUCE these models as they sponsor Pebble Beach. Lexus paid for the rights to be the exclusive car for Pebble Beach and in return they get to produce these special edition cars.

Since the 1990s, Lexus has had special editions, from "Coach" to "American Experess" to "Neiman Marcus editions" to"Pebble Beach". Its not what an enthusiast may clamor for but the traditonal Lexus owner likes to buy and own a rare LExus compared to the mass produced models.

That SC interior is fantastic!

The S55's haven't been produced since 2005 the S63's replaced them. And since I work in Beverly Hills I see maybe 2-3 per day. Now I've seen a couple of s65's but they are more rare.

All Lexus hybrids feature the ECVT.

The bump to the hybrid will hit you up a mere $32,000 over the everyday plutocrat’s LS460L, to $117,119 for the well-optioned sample I drove. Mileage is outstanding, 25.1 mpg for my 750 miles using very little A/C in the cool spring.
Not a fail if you can average 25 MPG out of a big, fast, AWD car.

I get 27MPG out of my 350 with 90% highway driving. 25 in a big car like the LS sounds great.

If you're dropping 120 large for a car, 25mpg is not exactly relevant.

The LS600hL is about fast with QUIET (quite a bit quieter than LS460L apparently) and effortless power (electric motors provide good midrange punch), plus the 'green' cache.

IMHO i think lexus kick they own self in the azz, on how they marketed the 600hl, the whole idea, made that car a big joke and keeping the SC unchange for this long....smfh
