Default Taste of Lexus, What to expect?

I have a reservation at the Taste of Lexus event tomorrow in San Mateo, I know this isn't like the performance driving academy, but I was wonder what to expect. Some of the other people I have heard from made it seem if it was just a toned down sales pitch, however, Lexus sent the invite and they know we already have the cars, so what should I really be looking forward to?

It depends on which one your going to the encounter series or the Lexus showcase. The show case is moe like taste of lexus were as the encounter is just a ride and drive.

The Lexus Showcase is by invite only. These events are mainly designed for those in the market for a new Lexus, not current owners that are just there for the freebies, which is why this year you're only allowed a 90 minute time slot. It's to experience certain Lexus models on the closed course and an actual street driving route.

There's already a thread about this in the NorCal section:

It's fun, but after 20-30 mins i feel it getting old...

expect hordes of freeloaders to pig out, take goodies, and stuff bottles and bottles of water in their purses..

and people talking about the cars featured there like they've owned every single lexus model (even when they get all the facts and figures wrong...i heard one 20 something say that the IS350 was faster than an AMG...ffs)

wait in long long lines for a test drive that goes by wayyy too fast...

at least that's what i saw in the last two i attended.

but on the upside, go check out the CL cars in the parking lot.

meh, you are just talking about things that i see at every single driving event...

what a shame, how can they own luxury cars... wait, maybe that's how they afford the cars...

not to mention people whining and complaining about the free food not being good enough, that they couldnt take the car out and drive it really hard for an hour or more, or complain that the free gift either sucked or if there was no free gift about the lack of one. anyways, im still gonna go, taking friends who have never been before so if you see someone sliding the cars around turns that'll be me.....

lol, cause yall make some good points

The first lexus events were awesome, smaller and with people that had some sense. Word of mouth spread and well like many events that get bigger, not necessarily better.

Glad I went to the IS-F paid drivers course. That rocked!

You guys are making me wish I picked an earlier time. Hopefully I won't see too many of those people at my 11:30 appointment

Here's a nice pictorial of our own member Al7ezza who went to the event today in San Mateo:

I really want to make the turn to Foster City side and go back home..) and go back to the event center

No lines for the LS460L, everyone wants the 600hL

al7ezza becomes a LIMO driver :P

I wonder why the warning system is not activated :P

Enter the freeway 92, I intentionally slow down at the light before gunning it in... Massive Torque!

My colleague is really enjoying at the back

We were blasting the AC to the coldest mode..We are in San Mateo and it was 93ºF crazy hot!
