Why Lexus?

Why Lexus?
I mean in the market today, there are so many cars for the same price that offer the same features and sometimes cost less. I mean just for example the infiniti g and acura tl are great products for less and offer the same reliability as other japanese products and offer more sport instead of luxury. Saab and volvo also offer great products that offer about the same for less or the same with about the same options but of course have quirks with reliability and vw can also be put into that category while bmw and mercedes benz are the same or more but offer the same with reliability issues. So why lexus? we are in the market for new cars or used and while lexus is good, there are other great cars for a lot cheaper, our infiniti dealer if even offering lifetime warranties (with quirks of course). And while i am sure this question has been asked before, more input would be great, and please no broad generlizations like all germans are unreliable and all japanese cars offer no sport what so ever

You should ask the same for any other brand such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz or Audi. There will always be people that will buy them regardless of price, options, etc. Buy what you/your family likes/needs.

Because choice is good. Then you get to decide for yourself what best fits your needs. It isn't about "Why Lexus" as much as the crappy situation that would exist if there was no Lexus, no Audi, no BMW, etc.,....

I bought my GS300 6 years ago and looked at Lexus because Toyota products that I have owned and my family members have owned have been very good, reliable cars. 6 years later, the GS300 is still racking up miles with no serious issues. Everything it needs now is cosmetic. It's 14 years old now and has 165K on the clock. It does what I ask of it, it's comfortable, quiet, and smooth. It is not quick stoplight to stoplight or fast overall. There are lighter cars that handle better. Those were not things that were important to me with this car because I have another car for that.

I agree with many. Buy what you like. I am not brand loyal, although I do tend to stick to a couple of brands that I do trust. The way I see it, I wish all the competition luck and success as they will make the cars in the brands that I do like that much better as well. If you don't keep up with the competition, then people will buy the competition. I seem to rotate between Lexus, BMW, used to be Acura but haven't bought one in a while.

In the case of my IS, I chose it because it just so happened that it was the best combination of price, features, performance, looks and realiability for me. Not necessarily because it was a Lexus but simply because Lexus had the best overall product for me at that time.

im just a student, the lexus i have now is my personal first car.. i've always had a thing for big cars, like the bmw 7, s class, etc.. when i used to look at cars it was mostly something german, never really paid attention to the old RL's.. and i wasn't aware of the LS' existence.. when i did come across a lexus (japanese) which was long and luxurious, pretty much everything i desired with the reliability, i bought it =)
