i think the rear actually kinda looks like the current LS rear, except a bit less "bulky", looks great as a family sedan though

Now we know why they previewed the rear end first - the front end is terrible.
The UK dealers aren't happy - no 5 door hatchback version - they sell 3 rear hatch versions to every 1 four door saloon they sell of the current Avensis.

overall, only 15% of sales were hatchbacks in Europe... Thats 1 in 7, total

The front end IMO has a resemblance to the Australia-market Toyota Aurion. Sort of like a next gen version.

front pics look dissapointing, but it is hard to judge before seeing the car in real life. Wagon looks great and back of sedan and profile look good... so it shouldnt be that bad... i hope.

That doesn't help the UK dealers struggling for sales. If you look at the main competition - Ford Mondeo/Vauxhall Vectra - most of their sales are 5 door hatches as well. Gotta give the people what they want.

I don't think the Avensis competes in the Mazda 3's segment in Europe. This is more along the lines of the Mazda 6, Honda Accord (Euro) etc.

I was thinking along similar lines. Like the new Mazda 6 jumped in the sack with the Volvo.

i am pretty sure this one will sell a lot better than old one, hatchback or not... UK dealers struggling for sales, interesting...
