somehow that car doesn't do much for me. not saying it's a bad car though, i say it has its own ground. but to me the genesis totally pops

Curious, what kind of license plates are those? They're not North Korean, are they? I know South Korea's are less rectangular and more upright like the US, unless special registrations have a different shape.

my guess is its not a North Korean plate. North Korean plates look like this..

its the new south korean plate
A new system has been phased in, starting with plates for government vehicles in 2006 and appearing on privately-owned vehicles now. The color scheme is now a simple black-on-white design. Dimensions have been slightly altered; the new plates are slightly less tall, only 155 mm. They are also available in a size format similar to the plates used in the European Union, 520 mm wide by 110 mm tall. The numbering follows the pattern of the 2004 plate series, but all on one line. From left to right, the plate has the vehicle class, hangeul prefix, and four-digit serial number. Truck and bus plates remain the same width, but shrink slightly to 200 mm tall, and incorporate all the information into one line.

Genesis hotness...
Easily the best car at the auto-show IMO. Strait up elegance, from the stupid superb interior to the stunning-in-real life looks. I went to sit in an Acura RL after the Genesis and had a nice laugh...Acura really thinks that plastic door handles from the Honda fit fly in a car of that price? The Genesis interior looked (and felt) like an S-Class Benz. People were clamouring over it, there was a line to sit in it. Superb car, very impressed. Start engine, steering wheel moves into position just like Lexus/Infiniti. Had qualms about the blue lighting in photos but it's pure class in person. Oh and the Lexicon sound system? Sounded every bit as good as the S-Class system, if not better.
Really great car guys, go look at one if you haven't seen it. I am the hardest person to impress when it comes to overall build quality and materials used, but the Hyundai impressed me so much I wanted to buy one. Elegant, classy, quick, gorgeously built. If you can get over the badge, you have yourself a real winner here.

I went to look at te Genesis last week and let me say I think Hyandai has a sure fire hit. For 35K the car rocks with 290hp and missing only nav and sunroof. For 47K you get a car that rivals the big boys with 375hp and every toy. Fit and finish was excellent. Not a body panel gap anywhere. No gaps in the interior. No cheap plastic feel. Firm but supportive seating. Solid feel overall....I was just amazed. I'd buy one.

Have to say 1SICKLEX, I don't have any personal thing against Acura (I do own two Honda products), but the new range of cars is dissapointing. The new TL is cheap inside, just cheap, like the new Accord. The switchgear is cheap, the door trim is lots of plastic, and the general feel of the cockpit just isn't luxurious. The RL looks great but when you touch the materials it has it's own cheap elements, namely the door handles (plastic) and controller (plastic). TSX has an interior in line with an Accord. Hond has vastly improved their leather, however. Civic, Pilot, Fit - I can deal with cheap materials in these cars but not a $45K RL. The Genesis feels like a bonafide luxury sedan compared to the Acura range. Easily equal to that of Lexus GS series, while the size of an LS/S (lots of room, quite nice actually). Still can't get over this car is a Hyundai. I went to look at an Azera after this car and it looked and felt like it was from another manufacture - cheap interior, sketchy quality. The Genesis should really have it's own nameplate!

I am surprised hyaundai didnt have a modded genesis at the LA auto show. especially with the strong tuning culture. What the consumers want to see is the potential. They should give 5 cars yo 5 shops and make it a competition .
