A boulder falls on your car... <New Car Thread>
After nearly being rear ended on the freeway today, I began to wonder what car I would get to replace my IS (although it's not going anywhere until it's way past 100k miles )
So let's say you're going through the twisties, you park to take some pictures and a boulder falls right on your car. It's totaled, and you have to get something to replace it the next day. What car would you realistically get?
If I were to stay with Lexus, I'd lean towards the GS450h because I'd prefer something non-SUV and bigger than my IS.
If I wanted to lease, I'd definitely go with something German - new A4 2.0T is looking mighty fine in this category
I've also renewed my desire to head up to the mountains in the winter, so a Subaru Legacy wouldn't be out of the question.
But what has the greatest chance to sway me out of Lexus' grip is probably going to be the new CTS. Now that's one fine looking car
So what would you guys do?

I would still stick with the IS350. Maybe the GS350 if I wanted to get something roomier, but I will have to modify it more heavily than the IS350 to get the performance I want.
I'm still waiting for my IS convertible. Truffle Mica with Ecru interior...
I would go for the new 335i convertible, but the somber interior kills it.

mmm subaru legacy 2.5gt spec b sounds nice! subies interiors are getting pretty nice too! tonzzzzzz of aftermarket if you like that sort of thing. subie reliablility and the car is pretty low key so less prone to get broken into maybe?

The only thing I don't like about the subie is that while it has nav as an option, bluetooth isn't. If there is one thing that the IS has spoiled me with is the fairly good bluetooth reception. The other would be the backup camera

I'll take that bet I have a mortgage to pay starting December, my fiancee is in optometry school for the next 4 years (aka won't be making much until after that) and I drive 20k a year

Not so fun, and not mountain-fit, but if this were happen to me, I would get the Prius. It would be a golden opportunity and I don't think I can fabricate another excuse not to get a gas saver. It just wouldn't look very exotic on PCH
