2009 G37 Sedan mpg?
Apparently the EPA mpg is:
2009 G37 RWD sedan, auto: 18/26
2009 G37 AWD sedan: 18/25
I believe that these are class leading mpg figures. And very impressive for a 328 hp, RWD vehicle. Infiniti has come a long way in this department. Their mpg used to be near the bottom of the pack.
Obviously, VVEL and the 7 speed auto are good for mpg. Wonder what direct injection would do.

hmm with DI the 3.7 could have even higher HP and MPG figured. maybe 10%? surprising that without DI, the MPG is pretty much in line with the rest of the class.

The VQ has been one of the top V-6s for over a decade now. Nissan continues to evolve it and make it better.

It's still impressive that an engine with that much displacement and power can put out EPA numbers that compare to the older 3.0/3.3 engines from other manufacturers. My old 2006 Accord V6 was only rated at 18/26.

Considering that the 2008 G37 coupe gets 18/24 with the auto and the 2008 G35 sedan gets 17/24, that's some noticable improvement for the sedan. But as 1SICKLEX metioned, let's see what it gets in the real world.

The 7 speed will help Nissan/Infiniti huge b/c with the 5 speed, the cars are churning at a ridiculous 3200 RPM or so at 70 mph. The RPM will drop considerably with the 7 speed when one is cruising on the highway.

Remember more gears do not always equal better times. For example, the '07 Vette which introduced the new GM 6 speed auto was actually a tick slower than the previous year's 4 speed auto.
