First 3-series for the U.S., now even 911? I like it. Price it in the early fifty thousands, make it the most expensive four cylinder vehicle ever, beating Saab.

Won't happen. Simple as that. They have lower models to stick those motors in.

Yeah I know. Just not enough garage space. It is in absolute pristine condition and will be kept that way.

If my memory serves me well, and it does, VW/Audi and GM have some powerful, yet fuel efficient turbo 2.0Ls....hmmm...

944S2 208hp, old HP rating
968 236hp from a 3.0. Under old rating though so it would be less.
Honda S2000 237hp SAE, but 162lb tq-2.2 liter

In the past, Porsche had 4-cylinder engines producing HP only in the low 100's area. Imagine that!

to drop a 4 cylinder into a porsche they will need a solid turbo because todays cars are not light by any measure. 3500 -3700 lbs is not uncommon for even " sporty" cars

Something around 60-horsepower to be more precise.

Only for the misguided car companies. The 911 only weighs 3000 lbs. The Boxster, 2800 lbs. Thats what makes Porsches relatively fuel efficient and quite quick with their H6 engines.
Oh and they're even making the Cayenne smaller.
