Thinking about a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V
I've been bitten by the 4-door bug. Mostly because I am getting married in less than a month and we have a daughter.
I bought an '05 LS2 Pontiac GTO about 2 1/2 years ago (before children/married life) and I absolutely love the car, but it has been sitting in the garage doing nothing.
I've got a 1995 LS400 that I've been using as a daily drive daddy car. The fiancee has a 1998 Saturn 4-door.
My thought is to (and this would actually save some money), sell the GTO and go for a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V.
Megan would get the Lexus and we would keep the Saturn for bad weather.
I'd get my LSx power (400hp LS6) and 6-speed manual but gain 4-doors and a lower car payment.

My other option is a G8 GT, but I want my 6-speed manual!

I also love the CTS-V. The 6 bolt hub's kinda weird though. but anywho, two more doors, lower payment but you get to keep the LSx, 6MT...sounds like a winner to me.

Nice car, but I remember seeing this video from an unfortunate owner of a '06 CTS-V.

I was going to mention the CTS-V's weak differentials, but Zoraone beat me to it. That, apparantly, is a real problem........several auto mag long-term tests have been hit with it. The first-gen CTS, in both V and non-V form, also had cheap, unimpressive plastic trim that tended to loosen up and break.
If you want an 4-door American-badged car along these lines, check out a Hemi Magnum or Charger R/T (although the Charger also has cheap trim/hardware), or the new Pontiac G8 GT.
