Just wondering what others think on this topic.
Does it matter to you if your Lexus dealer is also a Toyota dealer?
I am not sure how many Lexus/Toyota dealers there are left in your area. But here in Ontario Canada we have one left in the provice at Ken Shaw Lexus/Toyota.
:You can browse the Lexus/Toyota in the same building and can walk into the Lexus showroom from the Toyota showroom.
:Everyone shares the same customer lounge complete with free internet, leather couches, widescreen tv, water fountains and free coffee.
:When you cash out you do cash out at different offices. But the Toyota offers service till midnight M-F while Lexus always closes at 6pm.
:Ken Shaw also has classic Toyota's in the showroom as well.
The Ken Shaw dealer is one of the only dealers in Canada to move 200,000 units Toyota units per year and is #1 in Toyota's internal surveys every year.
The building is at least 50 years old and is not anything like current Toyota new build.. while the Lexus section looks a lot newer
Just wondering what other think?
Is there any shared dealers left in the US?
Its a great way to compare both Lexus/Toyota
Personally I would rather have Lexus not be a stand alone dealer. I travel well out of my way to go to this dealer as I stay away from the stand alone in Oakville.

... My GS400 is a Toyota, it's got Toyota markings on the windows, so? That means I've got 1 of the most reliable cars out there, and when I have to fix it, it won't cost as much as some direct competitors like MB E class and the BMW 5, try fixing them in your garage.
BTW there's 1 shared Lexus/Toyota here in Winnipeg... and at least 3 more Toyota only dealers according to Google..

Doesn't matter either. The closest one to me is the Kendall Toyota/Lexus here on US1 here in Miami. Having grown up in the very same neighborhood, I have always been used to the concept and remember when this very Lexus dealer opened its doors almost 20 years ago.

I also don't agree with the combos, but "Toyota craps"? (whatever that means)
Can you clarify your view of the company that builds Lexus?

I would not care if Toyota/Lexus shared a facility. Only those who hump a badge would. I've taken my Lexus GS4 to the same Toyota dealer I purchased my Rav4 from for minor services such as coolant flushes with Toyota red coolant. Heck, there are two Lexus factory trained techs at my local Toyota dealer as well.. Why should I pay 50 bucks more in labor and parts for a coolant flush at a Lexus dealer ? Money saved..
