Cobalt ranked #1 against Lancer, WRX, and Mazda 3 (all turbocharged versions).

They really got the WRX for 09 blazin... though I am not really a fan of econo box type turbo front wheelers. I guess that is why I wanted to feel older in an LS

They want to replace it with the Cruze, which I think they should just keep the Cobalt name but really the Cruze is just the next Cobalt with GM's constant name changing game applied. The Cruze is a truly nice looking vehicle inside and out... I don't care at all for the current Cobalt interior, and while the Cobalt does currently have class-leading standard highway fuel economy, it's not only by a tad bit... the new Cruze with its 1.4L turbo motor will supposedly hit very low 40s in highway economy which is a pretty significant jump, and will have a nice flat torque curve to accompany it, plus run on regular fuel (rare for turbo cars)

BTW the Cobalt SS ran somewhere around 10 seconds faster than the 335i around the nurburgring... pretty crazy considering it literally costs half as much!

I just can't stand this Cobalt's look. Among these four I would pick it last. I probably would choose Impreza WRX first, Lancer Ralliart second and followed by Mazdaspeed 3, which is going to have a all new version soon therefore I wouldn't choose it.

Scrap the interior/exterior, keep everything else (including the price) and the Cobalt would be a real winner!

The Cobalt SS beat the EVO MR, WRX STi (by 6 freakin' seconds no less!), IS-F, 135, S2000 CR, GTI R32...........that's one helluva chassis to be able to do that.
