What's a volvo? Oh you mean a Ford they (Volvo) couldn't stay afloat by themselves much less make decent cars now that they are part of Ford it's not much better except they can hide their losses much easier under Fords own web of finacial mess...

Anybody can design their car to pass a lab test but not everyone can engineer a car to be safe in the real world.

It's a safety feature, and a great innovation from those prized German engineers.
