Question You have 50 grand for a car, what would you buy

OK, this is one of those threads that is just run on pure opinions,so im going to start of with that. My friend and i have a conversation about why people buy brand new decent cars, when for the same price you could buy a ferrari, lamborghini, rolls royce, heck your dream car. For 50 grand, you could get an nsx, 348 ferrari, 355 ferrari, even a rolls royce or bentley for 50 grand even less, why not? Maintnence? i mean thats the only possible reason i could think of for not buying a car like this. So heres the question, why or why not would you be an exclusive car like this for 50 grand or less, and what would it be?
My car would be a 1988 ferrari 348 or 2005 maserati grandsport

Probably maintenance.

I would NA build my current GS, if anything, and put the rest away in savings, and or some property when my market bottoms out.

OTOH, if i HAD to spend it on a rare-ish car, and maintenance was not an issue, probably a 2005 Maserati Quattroporte, or A (hopefully) lightly used 911 Turbo.

Personally I would buy some more apartments to rent out.

But If I had that kind of money liquid for a car, I would get a used Aston Marting DB9. Use the 50 grand for a downpayment

But im a messed up person

50K for anything on the market?

For me, a no-brainer. The Acura RL. A superlative car, inside and out...solid as a tank, refined, agile, AWD, comfortable, and reasonably powerful. One of the Ten Best I've ever reviewed.

BMW 335i with every option

On a sidenote, most Honda people will admit that the RL is a failure of a car, sales wise. FWD and a revvy (read: no low end torque) powertrain aren't really competitive in the $50,000 class of cars. I know it is a very nice car, but at least on the Honda forums I go to (I have an Accord), they question the RL.

The RL is AWD, not FWD. You're confusing it with the TL/TSX.

A 335xi, BTW (if the xi drivetrain was available on that car), would be my second choice.....
there I agree with you.

Yes but isn't the shawd system extremely FWD bias?

Which is fine with me, especially given the power transfering abilities of SH-AWD.

It seems like a nice system, but anyhow....Back on topic.

I would not mind finding a low mileage Delorean and doing a nice engine build.
