Gas supply down here in South Florida was somewhat of an issue, right after the hurricane, but it's all back to normal now. As far as price goes, you guys seem to be doing a lot better than us. We're still at the $3.65-$3.70 price range for regular.

Like I said on the day they went nuts buying gas before the hurricane...... if you have a potential gas SHORTAGE you do not go out and buy up all the GAS FROM THE STORES.

........ IDIOTS! They caused this problem. Greed. Greed has got ya..... everyone who wanted to save 20 cents on gas has caused this huge issue.

What if we did that for ozone? "The ozone is depleting and we only have about 65% left so screw conserving it, let's wh&&re it up as quick as possible".

just goes to show how much improvement Georgias and Carolinas petroleum infrastructure needs, same thing happened during Rita/Katrina. Something is very wrong when it only affects them but doesnt affect the rest of the US. Geez during the aftermath of Ike gas wasnt too hard to find even 3 days after the storm

There is pretty much no gas in Atlanta. We have 4 million people in the metro area. Either gas stations have no gas or there are huge lines to fill up.

As soon as a tanker puts in gas, its pretty much gone in a few hours.

It feels like you are not in America. Its eerie to see this happen to a major city. People fighting/arguing over gas. Lines stopping traffic in the streets. Police patroling around.

Now lets also get this out there too. This is seriously affecting a lot of business.
1. Postal service, they need gas
2. Delivery services
3. Sub-Contractors, installing cable for instance
4. SHopping, they are BARE, no one is out
5. Restaurants, much slower, people are not eating out as much
6. School buses and schooling, going to games, supporting after school projects
7. lowbux touched on gas stations losing business. If you didn't know, gas stations don't make much money on selling gas, they do on concessions. Well when you are out of gas, people don't go into your store, your revenue gets killed. If this continues, gas stations WILL close down.
8. WORK. People are not going into work b/c they cannot find gas or it is used as an excuse. Since its so widespread, you cannot doubt a person cannot find gas.
9. Tourism. Who wants to come to a city with no gas?

school buses don't usually dip from public supply. They have their own terminal the buses fuel from on a private lot where the buses park and most are diesel.

Is it not feasible to ship gas from other parts of the country temporarily until this problem subsides?

It's just weird that there's a shortage in this small part of the country but the rest of the country has the largest supply it's had all year with the lowest prices all year.

For most people I don't think it's because they want to save money on gas but because they really need it and are afraid they won't be able to get it in the days-weeks following the storm. I never drive too far so usually I don't fill my car up past 1/4 tank, However I did fill it up before the hurricane because I didn't want to be stuck with an empty tank for who knows how many days.

Yeah but at least we can get gas!
