I don't think it will win, but I love the Flex!!! It will be a fight between the Kia and the Honda.

wasn't the whole point of the Flex NOT to be an SUV?

Kia or LX, most likely the Kia. Both Kia and Hyundai have really stepped up their game recently. Always good for consumers.

I suppose but when comparing it, it makes more sense to compare it to SUVs than to cars.

Those that know me understand how I feel about Ford products, but, I actually like the Flex. Debadge it ,get me one in black with a plate that reads, "hearst." Nice what ever it suppose to be marketed as.

The Flex is suppose to be Ford's answer to the minivan, although it could be compared to other SUVs and Crossovers. I like the Flex and would consider the Flex to replace our RX300. But my wife doesn't like it's boxy design so no Flex...

At first I would have picked something not on the list....one of the big full-size GM truck-based hybrid SUVs like the Tahoe, Escalade, etc..... but they may have been on the market too long to qualify as a new 2009.....one of MT's criteria.

Of those on the list, I agree that Borrego beaks the most new ground.....although, oddly, in reverse. Most new SUVs eschew body-on-frames for a unibody. The Kia goes the other direction......primarily aimed at off-road and towing capability. Yet, the VW Touraeg and Porsche Cayenne have proved that unibody designs CAN do well off-road if designed well.
