Default New Aston Martin One-77 details surface (Updated : NEW PICTURES)

New Aston rumored to get a 7.3L V12 with ‘more’ than 700hp (522kW)

New Aston Martin One-77 details surface

The era of epic supercars is certainly not over at Aston Martin, following the recent release of an official teaser for a new flagship model codenamed the ‘One-77’ that is set to enter production next year.

More details for the One-77 have now emerged, including several new teaser shots and a ‘Direct Customer Sales Contract’ with some of the expected specs of the car. However, Aston Martin is yet to confirm if the latest images are official and some of the proposed specs are contrary to information released earlier.

According to the leaked sales doc, which appeared on 925.nl, the One-77 will feature a 7.3L V12 engine with ‘more’ than 700hp (522kW) and 533lb-ft (750Nm) of torque. The first official teaser said the car would feature a 7.0L V12 engine.

The drivetrain is also said to feature dry-sump lubrication and a rear-mounted six-speed automated manual transmission. Other leaked details include both left and right-hand-drive availability, a carbon-fiber monocoque body structure with hand crafted aluminum panels, active aerodynamics, and a kerb weight around the 1,500kg mark. Expect to see 0-60mph (96km/h) runs of 3.5 seconds and a top speed in excess of 200mph (320km/h).

Since the car is still more than a year away from being launched, some of the final specs could change before then but until Aston confirms the leaked details they will have to remain purely speculation.

Speaking with previously with AutoExpress, a spokesman for Aston Martin explained that an extensive customization program will ensure that no two models are the same. Buyers will be able to customize every single part of the car, from the gearbox to the interior trim elements. Even the seats will be tailored to fit the driver and passenger’s individual curves. The spokesman also confirmed that a concept version will be shown to a select group of customers by the end of the year, with the finished version ready by the end of next year.

Nice.

Aggressive, but maintains the elegant lines of the brand.

Where are they resourcing the engine from? I doubt Aston would independently engineer a low volume engine for a car of this caliber. And with the type of "body" and "backbone", it's going to be too expensive to not outsource that "heart"...

I already thought that the DBS was the ultimate machine, but with the "One-77" I may just ask to buried inside one!

They got me excited!

Default Paris 2008: Aston Martin One-77 (partially) revealed

Posted Oct 2nd 2008 9:25AM

Aston Martin said it would have a "property" here in Paris, and indeed it did. The Aston Martin One-77 made its "debut," but it looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer to see the British automaker's $1,000,000+ super coupe.

Judging by the limited upskirt shots in our gallery, the length of the One-77 easily surpasses the DB9 and the stylized front end, with blacked-out headlamps, ensures that the One-77 will spend more time in the comfy confines of heated and carpeted garages then out on the track where it's 7.3-liter V12, carbon fiber monocoque and massive brakes will be put to good use.

I am not feeling the flying buttresses on the front end

Also, the price tag doesn't make any sense. 1.5-2 million dollars for a front engine Aston Martin that does not look any better than the DBS? For that much money you can get other insane street-legal road race cars
