This is why my parents chose to spend more money for the 400h over the 350. SUVs aren't supposed to be fast, I can't stress that enough. And the fact that the 400h can hit 60 MPH in under 7 seconds its great, while grabbing 25-29 hwy MPGs...well I think that the Lexus focus for the new version of this vehicle should be fuel economy. Its fast enough as it is. So if it can get a direct injected 3.5L it will be in good shape.

I also think that there would be alot of people interested in an ES400h. As long as it pollutes less than a regular ES, I 100% think that people will but it.

I don't think we'll see an ES hybrid any time soon since Lexus will be building the HS 250h (Lexus Prius) a dedicated hybrid model which should be on display at the Detroit autoshow in January 2009.

Next RX hybrid gets the 3.5 V-6 and hybrid power. Probably make 300hp or so, with better fuel economy and performance.

I am scared of what it will look like.

Here's a weird online blurb:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...2140322AAJDrnj

Why does Lexus put 2010 RX commercial in Asia first?
I was watching AXN from Australia and saw 2010 Lexus Rx commercial from Thailand. It looks just like the one on edmunds.com website.
Are we still looking at November LA Auto Show for the next RX? An official Lexus premiere is listed there...

really, the RX350 needs it more than the RX450h. but if the hybrid comes in with less horsepower, then it goes directly against the Lexus philosophy so far with hybrids, and how they act as "turbos". that would mean they would have "lost"
Never happen. The FWD layout would never be able to handle that much HP. I can't see Lexus making ALL RX's, AWD. 280-290 HP is about the absolute upper limit for a FWD chassis at this time. Even at that, many manufacturers are turning to electronic torque management in lower gears so that the cars remain somewhat manageable under hard excelleration.(Saab, SRT4, HHR-SS, Cobalt SS) Who wants a computer throttling back your high performance car in lower gears? IMO, make it RWD/AWD or don't make it.

Toyota Aurion sends 330 Hp through the front wheels.

Maybe........but how much of that HP is squelched out by computer in 1st and second gear? It's what manufacturers are doing these days and I hate it.

"Hey, lets make the new Cobalt SS with 260 HP"
"No we can't, it's only FWD and we're not going to change it"
"Ok, then, lets electronically reduce HP and torque in 1st and 2nd so it will be more manageable"
"Hey, that just might work"

BS! I hate that manufacturers can't do it the right way. This notion of thinking really pisses me off.

Rest assured, 330 HP through the front wheels with no HP or torque management would render the car nearly uncontrollable at full throttle in lower gears.

Those 400 Hp turbo Civics? Just ask any owner of one. There's no way in he!! a car that dangerous could be produced by any manufacturer.
