Ordered C350. Email today saying Price Increase of $800!
some might remember me posting about purchasing a 2009 C350. well i ordered it at the end of august, and i didnt sign anything. he just configuredthe car and said that mid november would be the delivery date.
well i get an email today and he says there's a price "adjustment" of $800. on top of that, since its ready in october (im not ready for the car yet), and i cant take advantage of the winter sales event promotions like he said.
now of the murky stuff. we do know each other outside of the benz dealership and have met a few times through friends. i still want the car, but now i really have to think about it, since the price doesnt seem fair.
would you back out? he did say he would let me know on any october promotions when he finds out himself.
im just venting on this horrible situation! damn the economy. i understand $800 isnt that much, but i would have rather put that money elsewhere

Well you didn't sign anything so there's no price obligation on the dealer's part.
If you still want the car, a possible tactic you could employ is to say you'll sign something if they split the difference (you pay $400 more).

800 isn't much compared to the increases in other european cars in the same price range... plus it should of been expected with the US dollar sinking lower and lower
