Default 05 E500 AMG sport vs. 06 530i sport

Hey guys what do you think is better? I'm looking at those two cars for my family. The 05 E500 AMG sport package is a black on black, has 53k on it and is going for $28,900 but we can get it for 27k. The 06 530i with sport package is white on black, also got 53k on it, but is 31k starting price and we can negotiate. The Benz is a fully loaded one...but missing the moonroof so I thought that's a little weird having a Benz without it...but at the end that's not the most important. We test drove the Benz didn't find it any "wow" nesides yea it can surely go fast. The BMW we were only able to test a 525xi non sport as they were about to close and couldn't move the 530 sport out. The BMW did feel very smooth though it's only a 525. I would like to have a V8 but then I want a fun car as well. It's a hard call on the decision. Anyways, I just want to hear what you guys think. Any opinion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Since you are a fellow New Yorker, I organized a meet in the North East Forum for the BMW Ultimate Drive Event starting this Satuday.. It is a perfect opportunity for you & your family to test out the cars for yourself.. Sign up here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=353400

As far as the E500 v 530i From my experience behind the wheel, the E500 is quick & moves with authority, but the steering feel is vague to me The E55 AMG is a totally diferent car in feel and I would go with that over any standard 5 series Bimmer.. if you can shell out another 5k get that car. The 530i feels more powerful than the horsepower rating suggests but it is no E500 when it comes to quickness.. Handeling and steering are better as you will find out, but the ride is more firm but not jarring.. This will be your choice to make though as we all have different tastes in vehicle dynamics... Good luck.

E550 all the way, just based on looks alone. That said, can't go wrong with either.

i feel u do not need the V8, especially if u are in NYC. No space for u to really make use of the V8.

my opinion is just go for the 530i. the I6 engine is more than enough for traffic, both city and highway... and it handles much better than the E500.
