lol, BMw has a LOT of catching up to do if anyone reads their forums. Its great this issue got resolved but most companies/dealers are scared to get directly involved on the internet b/c its usually a no win situation for them.

They do like to use it to void things!

Yes, clearly all cars have issues, including Lexus. BMW forums have way more issues than many other luxury forums. Its not a jab at BMW, its a fact.

Part of the problem is using craptastic Bosch products. Bosch used to mean standard of quality but much like Bose, they are now just a famous name selling okay products. Their electronics are crap today compared to their stuff in the past.

in some circles i would be regarded as an audiophile and bose has never made good products. they are a smoke and mirrors company. they fool you with psychoacoustical tricks. These are links to 2 bmw models that I have owned, that tells you the suppliers. You don't see much bosch on there.

Moral of the story - when you have an problem that you can not solve the easy way, complain to hell and back and you just might get it solved.
Of course they don't build the car that has issues. You misunderstand.

Its the dealers job to do their best in taking care of the customer, ESPECIALLY when selling a supposed "Tier 1" manufactured vehicle like BMW. Did they do that? No.

It is the dealer that is the interface for the manufacturer and its product for the consumer. Simple business ethics there and I'm a stinkin engineer :/

fay, you know why they put 4 doors on our car.

stupid insurance and to appeal to the mass market which is toyota/lexus plan for overtaking GM as world #1

now they realized how it could hurt them in hard financial times.

I want to see a new, better, confident toyota/lexus who leads more than follows

They overtook GM last year. GM quoted numbers from car-manufacturers that it didn't have controlling stake in as their own. With those removed, Toyota was #1.

I don't think 4 doors on a sedan are going to hurt them. A 4door car is more utilitarian than a 2door. In this market, bang for the buck, utility, and economy are going to win out.
