picked up my S5 on Saturday... (pics)
After 3 very happy years, my lease expired and my '06 IS 350 went back to the dealership last week. My sorrows were eased by news that my '09 Audi S5 had come in a little earlier than expected, and was ready for pickup. I got Tiptronic, meteor gray over silver Alcantara/black leather, nav, B&O stereo, tech package, and stainless steel trim. Car is awesome so far! But my IS was great too, and I'm sure I will return to Lexus in the future. Two things:
-Lexus of Manhattan has my IS now. It's 3 years old but only has around 22.5k miles on it, and I took great care of it... So if you are in the market, you should go check it out!
-I am selling my 2IS car cover. It is the Evolution material and is in good shape. I will probably post something in Marketplace eventually...
In the meantime (full series here: http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/users/96419.phtml):

A few things I have noticed with IS compared to S5 (I'm listing "Pros" for each car):
IS:
-heated AND ventilated seats (S5 heated only)
-bigger, brighter, clearer, easier-to-use nav with better graphics
-guidance voice is much nicer
-better MPG with plenty of power
-$16k cheaper and it's still a sweet car
-5 seats
S5:
-Recaro/Alcantara
-rear backup cam has guidance lines to indicate path of vehicle
-color LCD screen in instrument cluster
-not locked out of functions when car is in motion
-automatically downloaded phone's address book (IS didn't do this, but I didn't try too hard - I know it's possible)
-40/60 folding rear seats
I know they are two very different cars and it's completely NOT "apples to apples". However, both cars appealed to me very much, and suit my needs and tastes, so I don't think it's a completely unfair comparison. And many of these points apply to the IS-F as well, which is more of a direct comparison.
Thanks for all the compliments!
