ticket question
i was on the east coast last week, and rented a car to drive around. well, i was driving on the freeway in New Jersey when a state trooper pulled me over for speeding. i was going probably about 82, 85 max, but he put me down for going at 91! anyways, my question is if i pay the fine, will i be docked a point and will my insurance go up? or does it stay in the state of new jersey and not show up on my driving record? basically what am i asking is, is it worth it to try and fight it, or just pay the fine? thanks!

All states have different standards in transferring points from ticket offenses from other states. I know that when I was pulled over in new york (while living in NJ) I did some research and found that I got two points on my NJ license because the point systems are drastically different. Check your state's DMV website it should help you out there.
Where in NJ where you caught?

oh yeah. and so if i plead not guilty, and they later find me guilty anyway, there's no additional penalty right? or do they come find and beat you? haha just checking. thanks!

Points in your license most likely will NOT show up/transfer to Cali, but your insurance WILL find out that you got a speeding ticket - a 91 in 65/55 one at that - in NJ. Now as to whether that's worth trying to fight, only you can answer.
