Designer tires : would you buy them?
So, we've seen some crazy new ideas in the tire market.
Like the colored smoke tire...
The lavander scented tire...
And now, my motorcycles tires (which are called Pirelli Diablos) will be replaced with a new model, Pirelli Angel GT (with angel and devil outlines)...
Are you the kind to buy something outrageous like these for your car?

I can't understand why tire manufacturers can't make the sidewalls have
a nice, dark black sheen to them. They always look so lousy when they
don't have any tire dressing on them.
I mentioned this to Hugh Pace, the CEO of Pirelli North America when he
and some of the other Pirelli big-wigs visited my office about four months
ago (seven Pirelli heavy hitters came total, visted me, then Chip Foose
then flew back to Georgia home office; I thought that was fairly flattering).
Hugh looked at me like "what a crazy idea..."
Apparently, nobody had ever suggested that to him before.
He said he'd look into it.
The colored-smoke tires are Kumho, as are the Lavender scented ones.

probably not ... now, if the sidewall were something other than the standard rubber and the color or whatnot weren't going to ware off over time I would probably concider them, providing that I like the tire as a tire as well

I thought I remembered these from Top Gear so I had a look on You Tube and sure enough:

Nice to see The Stig having fun.

i wouldn't buy them unless they offered comparable performance and price to any standard tires. i'm not paying a premium for something like that unless it was negligible.
