lol this is cool!
one time my friend told me this story. he lived right by the side of a road where quite some cars pass by every day and they tend to speed, making it a very good speed trap
one day he was walking his dog and he saw this bike cop at one of the driveways catching people. my friend got home, pulled out some cardboards, paper, and paint, and then put those stands on both ends of the road. the signs said "speed trap ahead, SLOW DOWN!"
he didn't bother to check on the cop, but later on he found those signs lying flat on the side of the road

LOL I love how friendly drivers can help each other!
On the other side I recall a school crosswalk attendant who was tired of speeders and used a black hairdryer like a speedgun, causing people to slow down when driving nearby.

I once read a story about these two young boys.
There's a stretch of road where people would drive over the slow speed limit.
Cops would always hide behind the trees and pull people over.
One day, nobody was speeding! the cops were like WTF??? all day and not a single speeder?
so they pulled out of their hiding spot and found a kid holding a sign saying "THANK YOU" and a bucket collecting tips from everyone driving past. further up the road was his accomplice (fellow entrepreneur) holding a sign that read: "SLOW DOWN! COP AHEAD!"

Actually, They can give you a ticket for warning other drivers of speed traps. I've been ticketed for flashing my lights at other drivers to warn them of the speed trap. I forget what they actually called it though. I did manage to get out of it through.
