What are you basing your decision on exactly ?
My next car will be a CL to replace the celsior. Why ,the number one reason is b/c I can fit my two kids in the back , the luxury and I like the design of the two door. If only lexus would come out with a car to match the CL b/c I would get that.
I love sport cars, but I guess it has to do with the stage that you are at with your life. My business is really busy and any free time is spent with the family so I don't have time to drive a sports car. I suppose that is another reason.![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Well without reading all thru the replies I will just answer like this:
CL65 without thinking twice.
Why?
I'm 38 and unless I can afford more than one exotic (I consider the CL65 an exotic too) I need one that is "practical". The Gallardo is nice and a looker for sure and hauls a ss. But the Merc will get noticed by "those who appreciate what it is", haul just as much a ss and with a 3 additional occupants at that!
The new bodystyle is simply perfection: sexy, strong, sleek, and timeless as was it's prior model. I would also say the CL65 is even more rare than the Lambo. I got up close and personal with a Black/Black CL65 and this car is perfection and practicality on wheels... period!

Second problem with CL is what i highlighted in red in your reply. Basiclly, most ppl wont appreciate it or think its worth it comparing to Lambo just because its MB at the end of the day. There are only a few ppl on the road really know about cars that much.
If I was limited in choice between the two, I'd get the Gallardo...you only live once so might as well.
But for $200,000, I'd choose an Aston Martin DB9 around ~$190,000 w/ about 40ish miles. Then splurge on other things with the $10,000 or go cheap and get a Maserati GranTurismo.

Not just performance. The CL65 has a pretty good edge over the Gallardo when it comes to straight line speed, though dont quote me on that.
Exclusiveness and track performance are my priorities if I were to be shopping for a coupe at this price level. If I wanted Luxury, I'd look into a sedan instead.
To me, the CL is just another CL with a larger engine (and a few others). T be honest, if I was going to buy a CL, I'd rather have the CL55 or CL63. I love the exhaust of those big V8s, more than the V12 itself.
The Gallardo is just 'different' in a good way.

CL65 for me.
I have own something similar to both cars a NSX and CL500, which is a downgrade CL65. I hate to say it after hit the curves a few times you want relax in luxury and that is where the CL65 shines. I prefer the elegant, business man look anyway.
Maybe I am getting old.

I absolutley LOVE the MB CL, but with that said, I would pick the Lambo.
Cars are rarely an invenstment, but if I can at least minimize the hit, I would do so. Plus the Lambo gets the attention and has the speed to match.
I know it is a stretch, but why no save $80K, get the CL63 AMG and then something else, maybe a GTR or used Gallardo or Ferrari 360.

I think you have your answer right there...AMG or not, at the end of the day, it's still a MB that people view it as. CL600/550/63AMG/65AMG, it doesn't matter since it's still a Mercedes. It seems you do indeed have a slight bias to the Gallardo although you've been trying to hide your true feelings. Just take care and know the "maintenance" fees associated with the Lambo.
