I have yet to find an X6 available at a BMW dealer. In person, I think they look great and I've sort of planned on making it my next car. Maybe, just maybe, Acura wants buyers in my demographic?

Not as much of an eyesore like the TL.

That TopSpeed rendering isn't TOO hideous, but I will jump on the "why go into the too-small-to-be-useful, too-big-to-be-truly-sporty market" bandwagon.

Regarding the camo'd vehicle that started this thread, I really wonder what it is. It looks bigger than an MDX to me--in fact, the curve of the roofline looks just like the Nissan Armada/Infiniti QX. The HUGE oval grill in front screams Infiniti to me as well. Could this actually be a new Nissan product where they're trying to replicate the look and feel of Honda/Acura interiors?

It just doesn't make sense that Acura would develop and release a vehicle like this right now.

I'm betting this was designed/conceived quite some time ago. It's not like you can just pull the plug on something that has been in the works for so long. Just my theory of course.

That thought did occur to me, and you may very well be right. But if Honda/Acura is to survive and thrive, they would need to be more responsive to the market than that. This is part of what got the U.S. automakers in trouble. If this is truly an X6/EX competitor, they would be better off pulling the plug now and abandoning the money they've spent than to continue down a course that is a proven loser.

Didn't anyone at Acura take microeconomics and learn the concept of "sunk cost"? You're ALWAYS better to cut your losses than to rationalize continuing down a road to ruin...

I'm betting that sunk cost is 90% of the total vehicle cost and therefore selling any is better than none. Spending that 10% to bring in something (that is probably more than 10%) is a winner. It's not like this thing won't sell at all.

welll maybe Acura's version of X6 will have a lot of space, and thus fix one of the major issues with X6 itself.
