nice car. I had no idea C classes were going for ~50k nowadays...
well it was kinda the wrong time to buy. i mean from 2008 to 2009 (august price adjustment), the price went up by $2000, and then on October 1st, 2008, it went up again by $800 on account of the dropping dollar.

so base price for a C350 with destination comes out to 39,8xx. add a little bit of the options are yeh, it gets ridiculous. this car cost just as much as my RX, and the RX is much more car in many ways

Nice ride! My sister just purchased a Silver C350 w/ AMG wheels. It looks great. One thing that you didn't mention is that the MB does not have a touch screen. To me that's a big deal, considering that you do get that in the Lexus, and it's much more intuitive. If you have to press a button just to bring up voice commands on-screen, then it's easier to just touch the screen in the first place. I also didn't like that it flips open/close. That's just a bit tacky, since there isn't any reason for the screen close.

lol i actually like the controller. i mean it might be harder, but for some reason, it screams "unique" to me. it might add complexity, but its much more "fun". maybe that opinion will change as the car ages. but so far i like it.

i meant pushing the voice control button to speak also brings up a list of commands for you to see so you dont have to memorize them like you do on lexus cars.

and the flip up screen. originally, i saw it as tacky too. but its a real crowd pleaser. lol. plus people (or ast least i do) usually just keeps it open anyways. and i guess its a good way to keep dust off the screen when its park?

I hate touch screen because of finger prints and it looks disgusting to me

I don't mind the flip/slide open/close screen. But lack of touchscreen is the deal breaker, no way I could stand using a control **** to pick options on the screen. The navigation system of the BMW 530i in my family pissed us off enough that no one in my family has used that navigation system in two years.

I hear you about the advantage of touchscreen nav systems. I miss the nav system in my GS...it was so easy and intuitive to use. The nav system in my E is mediocre at best. While the nav system is better in my folks 750Li, it's still more cumbersome to use compared to the GS.
