Just got one of those JDP&A surveys in the mail, opened it up, and found a crispy $1 bill inside. Googled it on the net, seems that some others getting the same. Anybody here got it? Why $1 bill? Very strange

Yeah, right. I send them back survey, they sell my name to a dozen of other places. I remember doing Lexus online survey for my previous ES350, and than a month later got phone calls from some auto research company

The dollar is to make you feel obligated to fill it out and guilty if you don't.

If you don't want to do the survey, don't feel guilty, and keep the dollar as your gift.

Yeah, I got one of the mail recently. Fortunately, I no longer own that car (10 months ago) that they want me to do a survey on. I wrote on the survey, answer is the same as the last survey sent in.

I've gotten those before, I put the dollar in my wallet and throw the survey in the trash. $1 gets them about one minute of my time and that's about enough to open up the letter, stuff the buck into my wallet and walk to garbage can.

Over the years I have participated in several auto research surveys / evaluations. Most pay anywhere from $75 - $300 for a few hours of work. I got to evaluate the Infiniti QX SUV before it hit the market. They usually take a couple of hours in the evening.
