I read somewhere that the motor is an older, iron-block design (4G63T) and not from the new EvoX, which has an aluminium block (4B11T).

Even if that was true, that's still awesome. The 4G63 is legendary for making EVOs and DSMs fast. But I'm almost definite it's the 4B11

Where's the curb around he poll? Safety standards in South Korea are abysmal compared to that of the United States. Who knows where the airbags are? In the U.S., there will be very little doubt...

The Genesis Coupe is a great car for the money. I'd rather have a Genesis Coupe than an Accord Coupe V6, Altima Coupe V6, RSX, Mustang V6 (or even GT), or anything around that price by a long shot!

Kudos to Hyundai for making a great bang for the buck car.

i consider that a flaw in the system, no sensors in the seats telling the deployment system that there is people sitting down?!

We're probably never going to know all the correct details. However, it's meaningless. This is not going to damage Hyundai's reputation at all. The Coupe in America will work as we expect it to. Otherwise it would never go on sale. There's really not a whole lot more to say.

Weight or no weight, I think seat belts are typically required for air bag deployment. Flying into the steering wheel or windshield is bad, but worse with an air bag exploding at the same time.

BMW, I'll bet money this will not end up being able to take the 335i coupe. Peak manufacturer rated power to weight ratios don't tell much.

Edit: No interior pics yet? The interior pics from the crash make it look like it will be quite a bit more styling than the sedan (the one fault I hold against the sedan is its interior styling... looks dated and librarian like)

Threxx. I somehow doubt it'll be faster than the 335i myself... As for the librarian like exterior on the Genesis, that's the way most luxury car buyers like it.. Which Lexus do you like best? I'm just taking a guess you're more into the sporty versions like the GS or IS than the ES or LS...
