Big Brown Bag: Infiniti Offers Special Edition 2009 G37 Convertible Through Bloomingdale's
NASHVILLE, Tennessee — As the holiday season nears, fashion fans and car enthusiasts alike will be watching their mailboxes for the arrival of Bloomingdale's annual holiday catalog, this year set to include an eight-page spread of the 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible.
Scheduled to make its official debut at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show in mid-November, the all-new G37 convertible will be offered in limited-edition Premier trim exclusively through Bloomingdale's. Although retailer Neiman-Marcus has partnered with automakers before on similar offerings, this is the first time Infiniti and Bloomingdale's have promoted a special car.
Powered by the G37 coupe's 330-horsepower 3.7-liter V6, Infiniti's Premier Edition G convertible comes with a dark gray Platinum Graphite exterior, exclusive Monaco Red leather-trimmed interior with hand-crafted, red-stained genuine maple wood trim, and a special grille and 19-inch aluminum wheels.
Additionally, the three-piece retractable-hardtop convertible offers automatic climate and Bose Open Air sound systems that preserve passenger comfort during open- or closed-roof motoring, as well as heated and cooled front seats, a touchscreen navigation system and iPod interface.
Dedicated phone lines will open November 10 at 12:00 p.m. CST to begin taking orders for the limited run of 200 Premier Edition convertibles. After placing a reservation, customers will be referred to an Infiniti dealer to finalize the deal.
Pricing has not yet been announced.

Lexus isn't the only one to do Nieman Marcus editions. Ford did them for the introduction of the two-seat Thunderbird in 2001. In fact, the Nieman Marcus Editions were the first ones to actually be sold, before the regular production models (at a steep mark-up, of course, just like all the first-year T-Birds).

We have heard about the Neiman Marcus cars for sometime, BMW just had the 750 and M6 convertible ..Lexus had the SC 430 and IS-F and GS 450h to name a few.
While I commend the marketing attempt, it simply comes off as "blah".
I do love red leather seats though.
