Pole Position
Whoever is in the Toyco marketing deparment that puts out these eflyers needs to be shot!
Stupidest advertising I've seen yet for a new vehicle concentrating on pet friendliness?!!! I guess that's the target demographic?!!!!
The new Toyota VENZA has a line of canine-friendly products sure to generate a howl of approval from even the most finicky of dogs. They are designed to help increase the comfort and safety of your furry companion and will be available through Toyota Associated Pet Products.
"VENZA is a vehicle designed to meet the needs of people with a fun and on-the-go lifestyle, especially active boomers," says Bob Zeinstra, Toyota Motor Sales' national product marketing manager for the VENZA. "We wanted to make sure the VENZA can accommodate this important family member and traveling companion."
Unrestrained pets cause more than 30,000 accidents annually, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA), so more states are passing and considering legislation requiring pets to be secured for their own safety and to reduce driver distractions.
Dogs and even cats can look forward to more than a dozen VENZA-compatible creature comforts, the most ever available through Toyota dealers. Some of the available products include a rear-hatch pet ramp for easy loading and unloading, a leash tether for securing pets in the vehicle, a pet booster seat with harness, a first/second-row or cargo-area pet barrier, pet seatbelt buckles and rear-seat zip-line-style harnesses.
You can learn more about all the new pet products in late 2008 with the launch of the VENZA.

This is exactly the kind of daily transportation I'm looking for. I drive a 2008 ES and if there's one thing I hate about sedans, it's having to bend my 6'1" frame over to get in.
I want a car, but taller and without the bulky mechanics and off-roading abilities of SUVs which are extra weight and hurt the fuel economy, handling dynamics, etc. The Venza is exactly that, and the liftgate/wagon design allows more cargo as well.

the rear seat. I never knew there were so many combinations. I just thought a gate between the cargo area and the rear seats is a good solution.

Hmm...
Fully loaded Venza FWD V6 = $36,500
Fully loaded Avalon Limited = $40,000
Any compelling reason to get an Avalon over a Venza? Especially given the $3,500 price premium? A fully loaded FWD Venza and Avalon have pretty much the same features. And they're both "cars" according to Toyota.
Granted, the loaded Avalon has features like memory seats and laser cruise that aren't available on the Venza, but the loaded Venza has features like backup camera, power liftgate, and panoramic moonroof that aren't available on the Avalon.

In case anyone is still wondering, the reason for the power difference between the Venza 4 cyl and Highlander 4 cyl is exhaust; the Highlander 4 cyl will have a dual exhaust manifold, whereas the Venza 4 cyl has a single exhaust manifold.
