Default Lets play a game...Find the vaccum line...

Anyone know anything about the 2.2L I-4 in a 96 cavalier? I got some seafoam for the intake (when i took the UIM off to change plug wires, there was carbon and CRAP caked 1/2" thick in both the UIM and LIM)...but i cant figure out where the vaccum lines are at...LOL! Been a mechanic the better part of a decade...and i get stumped by this?

so here are pix, please point out if you can:

And for those who are interested...old plugs (149,000 miles)vs new plugs...

Looks like a vacuum hose / PCV valve in the 2nd pic coming off of the rubber air intake. Its just not a hose, the little valve molded in going into the what looks like the valve cover?

If you want to clean out your throttle body and plenum, I don't know where else you can do it? There is the other hose with the braided covering which looks like its going into the plenum, but hard to tell from the pics if its vacuum.

On my mustang I have always taken the upper manifold off to clean manually and put seafoam in my gas tank, but I have seen people run it through the PCV (directly into the plenum) on mustangs but I have always been skeptical of running fluids through my intake.

Like Wolverine said - use the brake booster line. It's pure vacuum.
