Congragulations. Bimmers are not as reliable as Lexuses, but they can be a blast to drive. Their steering systems, especially the older non-Active ones, are some of the industry's best, and have an almost telepathic feel. Biggest problem, in my view, is just dealing with I-Drive, but you may not mind it like I do....or your car may not have it.

Congratulations on the Bimmer. If you bought it at the dealer, then it probably wasnt a CPO car, so perhaps you didnt get their warranty.
Dont know how that works, when you buy it from a non-BMW dealer.
Actually, not having the Sports Package will save you $$ in buying tires because the alignment settings are more agressive for handling in the Sports Pkg models.
The 3 Series models are great! Just super highway cars too! I can get into one and drive over 1,000 miles at a time, and not really be tired when I get to that mark.
It is simply amazing how smooth that motor works and how easily it will rev to redline.
Hope it got regular oil changes and not what the factory thinks is ok.. Go to www.roadfly.com and find the 3 series board. A really nice bunch of people there that will help you if you want. Heck, I might even be there!

Awww I'm so jealous. I've been debating over a Lexus IS250/IS350 vs BMW 330i but I've always wanted a beamer even though people told me "Beamers are not reliable" and "Costs to much to maintain" and Etc. Let me know how you like it... It'll really be helpful to me I actually ALMOST came home with a pearl white '06 IS250 with black interior for 30K out the door! But while test driving it, it stopped in the middle of the street! And the dealership guy said "They must've forgot to put gas......" which was like totally weird to me.. And he said that.. That never happened before.. And he literally had to push the car aside... It was really embarrassing... LOL so I took that as a sign that I shouldn't get one.....

We all know what brings them back. Those maintenance and repair costs post warranty. German cars eat up dollar bills like pacman.

Love comments like this. Do you have experience with Lexus maintenance costs post warranty? They are out of this world and VERY similar, if not more expensive than BMW. BMW long term reliability is also above average....

On the 3-series, more so than other Bimmers, according to Consumer Reports.
Which is a good thing, because the 3-series is BMW bread-and-butter car in the U.S.

The economy? CR has been around since the 30's......and the Depression. Their first auto tests, I believe, were in 1935 or 1936.
