Again! Best looking carbon fibre wheel by HRE

Wright is the enemy of speed. So these wheels featuring an outer portion made of carbon fiber and a magnesium wheel face my be the next big thing. HRE/Dymag introduced these at SEMA last week as the first production carbon fiber wheels.
These should come in 19 inch and 20 inch sizes with pricing expected to be between $2,500 and $4,000 per wheel (or around $10,000 to $16,000 for a set of four wheels). They will be available for sale early next year, and each should weigh about 21 pounds.

They're not really all that light when compared with a one-piece forged wheel
that is purpose built to save weight.
HRE has the advantage of using an aluminum center, whereas the Dymag
stuff used magnesium which isn't really suited to street use. The fatigue
life sucks, as it gets brittle and blows-up (cracks).
Hopefully Dymag has resolved their issues with the carbon fiber weave
leaking air (happened in a few cases).
Also, bolting the centers from the back side into carbon fiber freaks
me out just a little. Maybe they have stainless(or similar) inserts laid-up
in the carbon... I don't really know.
$10K - $16K per set isn't really that bad when you consider a Ferrari
430 runs about $200K these days.
