the exterior may be in bad shape but the suspension was upgraded with stiffer springs and shocks and the rims are 15" enkeis wrapped in Ziex ZE-512 205/50R tires. with all that said, the car handles quite well and the tires don't rub. i don't know how far i will go with this car. i've seen some interesting vidoes of this car with the 4agze supercharged motor and the 5v black top.

That thing is bad ***. I am a big fan of the loved AE86 ( hotchiroku). They are great cars. Very nimble and lite weight. You dont need alot of power to have fun. I think it will make a great track car if the motor can be dialed in. The parts should be relatively cheap. There are some great forum for the old school toyotas. I am excited for you man. I keep having images of my old best motoring videos with the old toyota screaming down the track at 9000 rpm with idependent throttle bodies and zero body roll. They are faster than fast when dialed in. The beauty of it is if you blow the freakn motor there are many options you can go with. I have a buddy who is running a n AE86 with the motor from an s2000. It matches beautifuly with the car. great weight to power ratio and that hardcore s2000 redline.

if you guys watch SCCA racing or even an occasional NASA event you will notice that the FWD cobalts, TSX's are the fastest cars on the track. I know rwd is ideal, but you can set up a mean FWD race car if you know your stuff ( namely how to get rid of torque steer on corner exit under hard throttle, and to dial out most of the dreaded FWD understeer)

yes it is.
it's actually not that bad for a fwd. the car weighs around 2400lb and it corners quite well. that ae86 that everyone keeps bringing up is quite pricey for an old car... thanks to initial D. i was told that one of those in good condition goes for around $5-6k. i've only seen one in nyc. as a matter of fact, im probably the only one with this ae92 in nyc. there are probably a good number of old school toyotas in california. i was never really into the "drift scene" so rwd is not that big of a deal for me. i've driven bmws and they handle well of course but they feel heavy. there's something about driving light cars that make them more enjoyable to drive.
