Next generation Porsche 911 (998) Turbo test mule spotted

Posted on Nov 21 2008

These are the first pictures of the next generation Porsche 911 (998) Turbo, that will replace the current 911(997). Even though it was raining hard today and the pictures are not in the best quality we can see that the front lights are standing more upright compared to the 997.

Side mirrors are moved from the side window corner to the side of the door. Don’t get confused of the rear lights as these are just temporary.

Next generation 911 Turbo is expected in 2011. It will feature the same flat-six engine that surely gets a power boost and the new PDK dual-clutch gearbox.

Stay tuned as we are sure that this is not the first sighting of the next generation 911 Turbo before Porsche makes it official.

back to the drawing board for the boys in stuggart. They have been embarrased by the GTR and the Z06. The porsche (11 turbo has gotten fat and less edgy. They have handed those crown to the likes of the GT2, GT3, and GT3 RS. They will make this next one a GTR killer. Then Nissans GTR spec V will crush it again. I love HP wars

I agree, but don't count Porsche out yet and don't discount the new GT2......it can more than hold its own vs the likes of Godzilla and the new ZR1 etc. And drop a GIAC chip in a 997 turbo and your gaining 100 hp alone!

Looks big. So crazy that they always find a way to improve on such an old design.

Still my favorite 911 ever. 993 Turbo S. Whaletail and all.

Yep, last of the air- cooled 911's I think....love that color too, didn't the old M3 offer that color?

Saw a 2009 grey 911 S in the local dealer this week (wasn't there to buy, had a meeting there!) and I was kinda shocked that the sticker said 106K. But boy was it gorgeous. I don't like the turbo - too gaudy.
