Zonda's track time beats the Veyron's.

The Veyron looked to have more control as should be since it's a awd car. The Zonda had wheel spin in the beginning but still managed to whip through the course with a faster time! Very impressive

It's no wonder VW refused to let the Veyron around the TG track for so long. It may have awesome straight line speed but I knew from the beginning that there was no way that hunk of engineering would make it around that technical track very quickly.

Still amazing how the Veyron is so heavy, complex, has a designer luxury interior and was never really designed for a tighter race tracks yet was able to achieve very good times compared to very lightweight two wheel drive high powered exotics designed more for handling and tighter race tracks. The Veyron looks amazing in white, there is no car on the road that looks like it or has the complexity and engineering of it. I would still take the Veyron but you have to give it to the Pagani for posting such a great lap, being so driver focused, and being so light despite its size and power.

I'd love to see what the Veyron could do with some performance tires (think track) rather than the harder run-flats that can take the top speed.

Awesome video and times but I would also take the Veyron over the Zonda.

+1. To be honest I'm surprised the Zonda didnt do a better job. Looked like he was going to lose more than once. You can tell just how heavy the Veyron is. Those tires were SCREAMING!!!! Plus its not like the Pagani had a landslide victory either. 5/10's of a second is IMO a small lead.

Though Clarkson might have been disappointed, I still find the performance of the Veyron mindobggling. Top 5 car on the TG track is a feat considering the more racetrack oriented cars on that list.

I'm not sure if they pushed the Veyron that much, did they? It looked sort of weak. The owner probably didn't want TG to wreck the car

I'm not sure if TG did the damage, but you can see in the right side (from the driver's POV) side skirt area, a sizeable dent below the door...
