Default How many cars can you own at one time?

I don't know, this question is bothering me, and I want to see if I can get some good answers. Ok, lets say money and space are no object( nice wish), how many cars can you own at one time? here are the cavats- Time is a issue, you have to work a 9-5 job monday to friday, so any time with the cars, to wash/fix/mod etc can only be done on the weekends. Also you can not hire someone else to take care of the cars for you, you have to work on them yourself, or take time out to take it to a dealer or shop. Lastly, you can have one fun/toy car, but you must be able to have it road ready in a few hours notice and legal to drive on the road. The rest have to be cars you can drive to work with no problem at all. I think if you have good mechanical ability you can own five cars at one time, if you are not good mechanically I think three is the limit. For the record I own two. Also if anyone has any real life experince please mention it.

Like legally?

As far as i know there's not much of a limit, unless you are buying and selling these cars.

Hmm but if money is no object(I know its hypothetical, even many billionaires are pretty cheap when it comes to luxury goods) why can't you take it to dealer?... I have a friend who's parents have a Bentley Continental GT, Rolls Royce Phantom, Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG, Lexus LX 570, Audi S5, Mercedes S550, BMW 750I, and a Acura TL(recently totaled) and her parents are really cheap when its other than houses/cars (well they skip a bunch of useless of the useless maintenance things from the dealer, but will have them do the major things), but I guess that is one trait that helped her father became a good CEO.

I used to have 7 cars at one time before I got divorced.
Now I still have 3 cars, 1 LS430 for how/look/enjoy, 1 Sequoia for family/carry stuff, 1 Avalon for save gas and beat around.
I need another sports car.

For now, just one.

I have one measly parking spot at my condo.

I tried having two cars and two bikes at one time (juggling them between home, my work garage, and my parents' house), with dizzing results.

I'm gonna wait until I get a house with a six car garage to get my "realistic dream" stable. Five cars and five bikes...

As many as you can afford to (and willing to) pay for (car, maintenance, and storage).

I was 1 day away from having 4 cars at one time (I ended up selling one and then buying another one the next day). Here is how I decided on what to drive:
bad weather/save gas/haul crap...toyota corolla wagon
have some fun in the curves....mr2 turbo
highway cruiser...300zx
get into some trouble...Steeda Cobra Mustang
I didn't make much money but I worked for a dealership so I got a lot of good deals. I currently own a Celica to beat around in and the SC for highway trips.

Ask Jay Leno or the Sultan of Brunei if you really want to know.

I want an R63 AMG when I have kids, but that's a looong time from now.

The SC300 is my current daily driver, but I hope to add a 3-5 year old four door sedan to my stable in winter of next year. I'm looking at E46 325i/330i, Maxima/I30, and any Lexus sedans. Or I might just bite it and get a SC430.

My dad has an ML350 as a weekend cruiser and a Highlander as a daily driver. He balances it out pretty well, so I'd say one would be able to handle 2 cars without any problems, 3 at the most. Any more than that, you are a dedicated car nut.

The R-Class might not be around in the American market much longer. M-B officials, though they have no immediate plans to drop it, have publically said it was a marketing error, and just has not sold well. So, if you want a new one, keep an eye and ear on the automotive news (Gojirra99 and 1SICKLEX, here at CL, go a great job of posting things), and be ready to act if you can afford one. M-B may not wait until you have kids to drop it.

I want like a Fit for a beater to work.

An LP640 or F430 for my sports car.

And probably M5 for the family usage.
