Gee, changing the name to a car that was a disaster in every sense didn't help sales. I can't believe it. I do see these around however. Perhaps if they retitled it the tempo.

Slapping an old name on not one, but two underselling vehicles is laughable. Realizing the company using said pathetic strategy is the healthiest of the Big 3 - Hilarious.

I preferred the Five Hundred name. It sounded more contemporary.

To me, Taurus brings back images of company cars and rental fleets.

Not a bad car/wagon IMO, just no identity. The reviews on them were were OK.

It was originally called the Freestyle which was more a wagon, like the old Subaru Forester. Thinking that name recognition would jump start sales, Ford later stuck the Taurus name on it. It was in between the Escape and the Explorer in the line up.
