The leather found in the AMG models (a step up from regular MB leather) is very nice.

You guys think the interior looks good? The plastics look very hard, and the leather looks like it belongs in a cheap van, not a luxury vehicle. What's up with the seat switches being placed on the seat themselves? Looks ugly and uncomfortable. I am amazed at Mercedes and how poorly they continue to make their interiors.

I have massaging seats in my A8, and I don't have the ugly switches on the top side of the seat. I bet it would feel really good having those plastic switches "massaged" into my leg.

Having already unveiled its all-new E-Class Sedan at last week’s Detroit Auto Show, Mercedes Benz released today new images of the svelte saloon wrapped in the carmaker’s new AMG styling package. The package includes a number features not available individually and gives us a preview of what to expect for the upcoming high-performance AMG model.
The new styling pack consists of an AMG front apron with large cooling air intakes, new side skirts and a custom rear bumper. The exhaust tailpipes are also unique, feature a twin, rectangular design and finished in polished stainless steel.
Other details include the completely newly designed 18in AMG light-alloy wheels, which are painted in sterling silver with a high-sheen finish and are shod with 245mm tires. Wider 265mm tires are available for the rear wheels. Perforated brake discs and silver-painted calipers bearing the Mercedes Benz logo are also fitted, as well as a suspension lowering kit that drops the car 15mm.
Inside, the AMG package includes new sport bucket seats finished in a special microfiber man-made leather. This same material is used for the door armrests and part of the center console. Other features include AMG floor mats, a pedal cluster in brushed stainless steel with rubber studs, black roof lining and Nappa trim for the gear-shifter. The AMG sports package also includes a manual "M" transmission mode designed for the automatic gearbox.
The actual AMG model, bearing the potent ‘E63’ badge, is due to be released later in the year. This car will feature a 525hp version of the hand-built 6.2L AMG V8 engine.

When the 210 came out, I really liked it. When the 211 was released, I thought MB did a great job of making it better. The 211 E55s are so sleek while the e63 was just that much more aggressive looking.
The 212? I've seen a few shots that made me go hmmm ... but other than that, it will take some getting used to (kind of like the 3GS for me). I was hoping the AMG version would really make me get off the fence. Although it is a step above the standard version, I am still reserving judgment.
