I am shopping for a genuine extended Lexus Warranty for my 2005 LS 430. It has 45,820 miles on it and I'm about to hit the 50k mark before I hit the 4 year mark.

The prices I've been quoted are these from my Lexus dealer:
6year or 70,000 miles- $1850
7year or 75,000 miles- $2400
5year or 100,000 miles- $2200
6year or 100,000 miles- $2450
7year or 100,000 miles- $2900 (best option if you want to keep or trade in your car.)


The question is - in today's economy, is there a Lexus dealer that will discount this sale? And if so, how much? Either tell me what it should be, or if you're a Lexus dealer, make me an offer!

It's still negotiable for at least another 5-10% when I last asked.
Don't forget that it's a total of 6 or 7 years, NOT an additional 6 or 7 years.

If you don't have the Ultra Luxury, I really wouldn't worry about it since the most expensive parts to go out would be the air suspension.

Heck, I have the UL and am not even thinking about it...keeping fingers crossed

...My 2001 LS430 UL's air suspension blew up under the extended warranty. It was UGLY. But it was paid for..... The 2005 is also a UL.

I dont think they wheel and deal on extended warranties. You never know though with sales today.

$2900 is the standard price I believe for a 7yr/100K extended Lexus warranty. You should be able to get the 7yr/100K for under $2100. The contacts for this are all over CL but here is a quick link.

For what it's worth, a couple years ago all of the Toyota guys were getting them from Toyota of Greenfield from a guy named Troy.

They may still be, I don't know as I don't really frequent those boards.

Anyhow about 2 years ago I ended up getting a 7yr 100k mile 'platinum' extended warranty on our 4runner for $875 when dealer retail was over twice that much.

I also asked him about extended warranties on Lexus cars... at the time I was considering getting one on a late model Lexus and he said he didn't have pricing for it but he quoted me $1415 on an IS300... not sure if the LS and IS would vary a lot or if the prices have gotten much higher in the last couple years or what. I remember when I compared his price to Toyota's price I was saving over 50% whereas on the Lexus warranty I was saving less than 50% but that's all I really remember.

Still a good chunk of savings.

edit: I just read the link above and the guy who quit the huntsville dealer mentioned Troy, too.
