thinking of trading in my 2GEN GS

And with any car, it's best not to mod one that is still under warranty, except for very minor things.
Having said that, given the choice between a newer GS and the IS250/350, it boils down to a choice of what is most important to you. If you want refinement, get the GS. If you want power, and a stiffer ride doesn't matter, get the IS350. If a low price alone is the issue, look for an IS250. If all-around practicality and all-weather traction is an issue (and it usually is with me), then get the IS250AWD......preferably with all-season tires The IS250AWD, though, is rather slow.
If reliability is not a big issue, though, I'd also check out the BMW 3-series. It's hard to beat BMW's ride/steering/handling combination, which is in a class by itself. I myself particularly like the 335i and 335xi AWD.....and the 3-series, though not with Lexus reliability, is generally more reliable than other BMWs.

Well all in all its not really that its just the look of the car for the reason that i want to trade it in, but it is one of them. I have other personal reasons why i want to trade it in and just have something new to go into the new year, i've had a few bad experiences in my car and i also wanted something better on gas. From what im aware of i would get good mileage on the is250 or the gs300/350 AWD would probably be most preferred since i do live in canada and we fairly get a good amount of snow yesterday was RIDICULOUS. i was doing some research and found two white 2006 lexus is250 w/ nav for 28,950 and a 2006 is350 sports package for 26,998 w/o nav and a black 2006 lexus gs300 for 29,800 im going to check it out and see whats the most i can get for my car and if they would drop the price on theirs. I was looking at the bmw 3 series as well but i dont love them as much as a lexus. Moving from the GS to a IS is a big change though, ive been in one its sooooo much smaller than my current car! i'd have to get used to it but i like the car a lot. I took the 06 GS & IS for a test drive they're both good its just a matter of which one i like the most.

The IS250AWD, of course, is a lower-cost all-weather alternative to the GS300/350AWD, but it rides rougher, the back seat is a joke (as is the case with any IS), and you might find it a little too sluggish for your tastes. The weight/drag of AWD with a non-turbo 2.5 takes its toll.
