Smile How many people think LA & OC freeway need some improvements?

Why I asking this question? The LA & OC major freeway condition were dangerous, and unstable highway. The CA government know about these big an issues.

Though I don't live there, I know that part of the problem in SoCal is the unstable ground and frequent earth tremors. Even if you don't have a major earthquake (which, of course, also occasionally happens), the smaller tremors can warp the pavenment, cause cracks and shifting of the road itself, and damage bridge abutments/foundations.
In the winter/rainy season, mudslides are also common, which further erode the road beds, and, in the fall, wildfires from hot, dry conditions and Santa Ana winds, whose fierce heat also damages pavement.

SoCal, granted, is a glamorous area, with some nice features, but you have to take the bad with the good.

Sounds like drunk posting to me... none of that made any sense from a grammatical stand point...

I have lived in southern cali most of my life and hated the bumpy freeways. Now that I live in phoenix, when I go back to cali and drive the freeways feel like someone dropped a bomb on the roads

They need less bumps and dips. Some freeways are really lumpy too. Why is it so hard to make a flat road?

you guys are also forgetting drainage... if it rains the last thing i want is a flat road.

There's a section on the 52 freeway down i san diego by genesee ave. that is infamous for making cars hydroplane because it's so flat.

On top of that, we have earthquakes, other areas have tornadoes and hurricanes. I feel we're pretty average lol

Not to mention some of LA's freeway are the oldest, the 110 is the oldest freeway in the United States built in the 1940's

If you've ever driven in the midwest or north east, you'll realize that la/oc freeways are above average in terms of quaity. Hell those reflectors on the road make them some of the best in america.

Mainland roads are nice compared to some of what we have to drive on here. You guys are actually lucky. I've never driven on any freeway in California and though it was a crappy road. In fact I love driving on the mainland. Roads are wider, speeds are higher, traffic doesn't seem as backed up. You guys got it good

If you could see the freeways in Phoenix you would feel that the freeways in LA are in very poor condition. AZ has no earth quakes and the freeways are much newer because the city on the whole is brand new

yes. When i drove to UofA to visit friends it was smooth. Smooth but slow. Cali doesn't have speed cameras lol.

The freeways and surface streets are pretty bad. It also doesn't help that when potholes appear (i.e. whenever we get hard rain) all the city does is put some quick patch crap and the next time it rains, it'll wash that off again...
