I rented a Chrysler 300c that car is no where MB quality.. it just suck.. I rented a Aspen SUV for another couple of day and I will never get another Chrysler rental.. their car just suck!. I 'm driving a 08 MB C300 rental now even this is not a very nice car it is still 100000x better than the 300c and Aspen I rented last year

At the rate Chrysler is going, they are struggling to fight off the title of being America's current Yugo!!!

Yes. He was the first non Japanese person in their history to be on thier board or executive committee. He did very well with them.

He left b/c of money, CHrysler while failing paid much more than Toyota/Lexus.

While I'm certainly no fan of Chrysler, this is a very poorly written article.

They are completely lacking the actual very small/narrow quote out of a much larger interview that sparked all of this, and then even worse, they are expounding upon it and misinterpreting it.

This is from another article that was written much better and HAD the actual snippet that's being jumped on.
“We’re going to be a smaller, more focused company,” Press told Automotive News. “We could be the Mercedes or BMW of America.”

Jim did not say Chrysler IS CURRENTLY America's BMW/Benz... he just said after their bankruptcy if they can be successful in becoming a smaller and more focused company, they COULD BECOME American's BMW/Benz.

Again, he's not talking about now, he's talking about future potential.

Although he did say something about the Ram being the exact truck Benz would have built if they had built a pickup truck. The Ram is arguably the nicest pickup on the market so I guess he's not too far off his rocker there.

Basically he didn't say anything WRONG. He just has higher hopes for Chrysler than most of the rest of us do. And is that so wrong since he's the one leading the charge for the brand?

A friend of mine came all the way from Europe for my bro's wedding. His rental was a 300. When my date asked, "what kind of car is this?" he replied "A piece of crap." It really was.

Maybe Chrylser can have the Italians engineer & build some of their cars once again. Those that are old enough should remember the joint venture between Maserati & Chrysler back in the 80's with the TC vert.

If this Fiat purchase of Chrysler mo. is ironed out, there just might be a Euro flare to the Chrysler product line.
