GM TO SELL OFF ITS HISTORY...Hundreds of classic cars to go to auction
#17
They are in a desperate position... they do what they gotta do. When they don't sell it'll look even worst for them. I know its sentimental but GM has tons more. By selling those I'm sure they would save money on upkeeping them and storage. Kinna makes me think why isn't Ford or Chrysler following suit.

If they took those to Barrett Jackson in AZ or Miamai they would sell. There are still amny old guys who still want stuff like that. I am thinking in the future they will be restoring older japanese cars that we as current import drivers used to have during our youths. Imagine an 86 civic Si restored in 20 years or an s2k in 30 years.

If it is any one of us in trouble, we need to sell things we dont want to sell, just to stay afloat. Why shoud they be any different. How about a Chrysler CEO/CFO being responsible for pulling the trigger on selling a 1970 hemi cuda convt and a 1970 superbird hemi to raise cash. Let them be responsible for it and live with the selling of their history. I think even though it is not enough, it should all be for sale to the highest bidder or bidders. Not at Barrett Jackson though, they should have their own ebay type sight to sell their cars one by one. I like the picture of the 69 trans am. i would take it in a heartbeat, but it should bring 500k if on the open market as should others. If it is original and untouched and untitled, they should be worth a fortune. I know the particular TA has approx 4000 miles on it as it was recently written about in the last few years.

I don't see but about 10 cars on that list that will net any real money or anyone will care about at Barrett Jackson. There's nothing to be made on that list. They are just late model cars for the most part. Hell it's barely a car lot of stuff from recent times. Who are they kidding? If that's what Gm thinks is where the money is, no wonder they are going under.
I mean stuff like
1995 Saturn 1 Millionth
1999 Saturn 2 Millionth
As well as pretty much the rest of that list is only important to THEM, not the collector nor the car buying public. Someone at Gm gives a damn about the millionth car, but nobody else gives a rats ***. This auction will be a whole lot of nothing.
