They're going to kill people doing that crap. Look at all the people who run across the street. The bus they rammed almost hit a little kid.

I have seen this one before. My cousin used to drive the Humvees while on duty in Iraq outside of Tallil Air Base on convoy duties and she would have to drive crazier than I did in Mexico City (or even Miami). It's no joke and she would also do her fair share of bumping (the soldiers had weaponry up the butt, so anyone who wanted to have a chat with them about whiplash was going to get their but whipped). It ended up being a case of shoot first and don't ask questions.

I think they HAVE to drive like that or they are sitting ducks by IEDs.

Also watching the video you'll notice 2 things...the smart drivers move to the side right away and the dumb ones had to be smacked first.

It is kind of like an ambulance here. Move out of the way quickly because the matter is urgent. At least the ambulance doesn't bump you though.

The fact of the matter is that those trucks need to move quickly through the city and that is the only way to do it over there...

yep. Having been there i can tell you the order of events:

approach traffic
traffic doesnt move=fire air horn
traffic doesnt move again=hit em with your truck.
traffic doesnt move still=they are a threat, open fire.

since Vehicle Borne IED's have become more common, the "bump&grind" method (as its affectionately called by some troops) has become less and less popular with troops.

well i didnt watch the video...maybe i should eh?

I just watched it...I tell you the soldier driving the humvee did EXACTLY as he was trained to do. I saw nothing their out of the ordinary. In a situation like that, the only thing you need to do is keep going. If you stop you are a target...a BIG one.

nah armyofone, I understand you perfectly.

I would rather hurt someones feeling and wallet than to become a target in a city of a million with little more than neutral feelings towards my country's presence there.

I understand not wanting to stop, but maybe they need better horns on their vehicles.

If you cant SEE us or HEAR our engines...theres something wrong, the horns are more than adequate as well. Humvees have regular electronic horns, everything else uses air.
