Question 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe: World-class ride... Would you buy it?

Here's the first drive impression from Edmunds IL:

Adventurous styling, a stout rear-wheel-drive chassis and a willing 3.8-liter V6 make this a world-class ride.
The entire article is here: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...hotopanel..1.*

Looks like performance wise this is a true challenger to the much more expensive luxury sports coupes currently in the market...

Now the question is, would you buy this over the G couple, IS coupe and 3er coupe?

I think Hyundai did a great job on the car, but it's all dependent upon the price, I am willing to spend a extra 3-4k for a G37.

No. Not new. I'll buy the above mentioned items first, especially since all three can offer convertible versions.

Used? Maybe Yes. I'll wait a couple years until it's half the price...

I wouldn't buy it if I were in the market for an IS/3/G competitor since it's so much bigger. But if I were looking at a 5/GS/E sized vehicle, I'd definitely consider it.

Edit: After you know, reading I'd say it depends on the price point. The G coupe is already very competitive when it comes to pricing and as you creep over the ~30-35k price point, badge does come into play.

^ isn't the genesis coupe tiny compared to the 5 and the like?

I would give it some time in the market first like others said. I wouldn't buy the first batch.

Hyundai's come a long way but I'd rather get the benchmark instead of good enough

No, but not because it's a Hyundai, I don't really like the styling either, particularly the front end ...

Hyundai has improved a lot over the years, but I still don't see myself in a Hyundai.

i would. one major reason is that there are already a lot of performance upgrades for the engine and a lot of tuning knowledge for that series of engine. of course i 'm talking about the 4b11 mitsu turbo engine. i don't see any reason why that car can't make 350hp to the wheels without spending a ton of money.
